Interns at King's
Our intern programme will disciple, train and equip you with the necessary skills and experience to pursue a career in a specific industry as well as help you grow in your relationship with God.
You will give a year of your life to serving God in a specific area at King's while growing in character and industry specific skills.
The year also includes access to year one of our LEAD training programme.
Who is it for?
For anyone 18+
You don’t need any particular education or qualifications, just a willingness to learn.
Do I need to be a member of King’s?
We would love to encourage applications from all around the world but during the intern year you will need to be located in Norwich and be a part of King's. If you're open to moving home for this internship then Norwich is a brilliant city to live in!
Please be aware that if you do need to relocate housing is not provided, but if this is an issue for you please let us know during the application.
What does a King’s Internship look like?
We offer two kinds of internship programme at King’s, running from September 2019 until July 2020. Have a look below to see to which area you think you would be best suited.
If you are a designer, videographer, photographer, web designer or any other creative then this internship is for you.
This incredibly exciting internship is perfect for anyone wanting to gain experience in the creative industry prior to exploring work in that field.
You’ll get firsthand experience working as part of the creative team on real live projects. You won’t be here to just stand in the shadows and watch. After a year you’ll be amazed at how much you accomplished and the experience you gained. We believe the training you’ll receive will be well worth the investment of your time, energy, and passion.
Do you have a passion to work with those who are vulnerable or in need? Would you like the opportunity to work within King's teams that are delivering important support to many within the community? Would you benefit from learning about running projects and teams that have a community focus?
We are offering the opportunity for anyone interested in these areas to work with the King’s Community Engagement Lead across all the community projects run at King's. This post is ideal for those who are looking to progress into community engagement or social services type work with some experienced gained in running events.
You will have a primary focus of work within King's Care - our work with those who are homeless or in need of support. This will involve liaising with other similar services across the city and supporting the delivery of King's Care. There will also be opportunity to spend time with the King's Money Advice Team and possible involvement in developing our work with refugees arriving in Norwich.
This is an internship for someone who is passionate about working with and supporting children, and their families, to be able to follow Jesus and take hold of all He has for them.
You’ll be working with the King’s Kids team as we look to make church a great place for kids to gather, help resource parents to see children grow in their faith, and equip families to go in mission and service, as they serve the church and tell others about Jesus. The work you’ll do will involve helping to write and prepare material for use on Sundays across all three sites, working with the King’s Kids Sunday team to put on some great kids work and helping to run fantastic events for kids and their families. You can also help us in the new areas we’re exploring as a team; how to resource parents to disciple their children and looking to see how we can reach children in our local communities. You will have the opportunity to grow in leadership, team work, planning, organising, writing and resourcing, as well as lots of experience working with children.
As a team we get such joy and excitement from serving kids and families. Over the year you will get to see children enjoying church, learning more about Jesus and, most importantly, meeting their heavenly Father. We believe that the training and experience you’ll get this year will equip you for work and serving the church, and grow your faith and passion, both for kids work and following Jesus into all He has for you.
How much will it cost?
There is no cost for our internships. We will cover the cost of the first year of your LEAD training course.
Will I get paid?
All internship programmes are voluntary.
Can I work an outside part-time job?
To help fund yourself during the year we understand that you may need to take on a part-time job during the year.
