Collective Design at King's: Praise
We have some wonderfully creative people at King's!
Tim Cottrell studied Graphic Design at Norwich University of the Arts and is now a freelance Graphic Designer.
At our latest meeting of 'The Collective', Tim showed us a variety of different designs he had been working on. The one which is included in this post is called 'Praise'.
This is what Tim has to say about the piece:
"This poster is a good example of expressing what was going on in my head, at a time where I had a lot of questions. Bethel Music produced a song called 'Ever Be' and after listening to it, I felt I needed to create something in response. The words 'You praise will ever be on my lips' are taken directly from the song. I wanted to make the question of 'God why?' as overt as possible while still being able to be surrounded and superceded by the ribboned text. The actual design was inspired by a design from a t-shirt I own. The responses from showing it at the Collective were encouraging as other people seemed to connect with it."
If you like Tim's work, you can view more projects on his website.
