City West Vision Sunday
Having had lunch we started gathering at St. Peter’s to set up for the first of our Vision Sundays. It all began with Liz Porter bringing packets of gold balloons that when blown up would spell ‘VISION’. Really cutting edge stuff. We promptly got those inflated, put the kettle on and the cakes out and prepared ourselves to welcome people.
Throughout the afternoon a variety of people shared what we as a location are believing God for this term. Charis Parker communicated a wonderful vision for gathering people in by not just welcoming them but going further and helping people to feel really at home in the family. Jamie Lotinga shared about the importance of LIFE Groups in making disciples and our plans to run a theological training programme in the new year called ‘Rooted’. Natalie Hope and I wrapped the afternoon up by putting our upcoming Alpha course in the context of witnessing to our friends, colleagues, family and neighbours.
It was a really encouraging afternoon where various people shared their hearts and an even greater number of people served their socks off to serve one another and contribute to the process of making disciples.
