We love our children
At Kings we love having children as part of the family, they bring such a vibrancy and energy with them that is both irreplaceable and contagious. We love to spend time with them, talk to them about Jesus and see them step out in faith.
We endeavour to disciple these children well, making sure our groups are centred on the Gospel and making sure that all we do, both inside and outside of church reflects the love Jesus has for them. I have a real heart to see our kids stepping out in the gifts of the Spirit, as it says in Joel 2:28 'I will give my spirit freely to all people. Your sons and Daughters will prophecy, your old men will dream dreams and your young men will see visions'. Who doesn't want a church that is full of the Holy Spirit and where kids are stepping out freely in this too?!
With a passion to see the all of this, last year a bunch of us from across King's went to a conference called GLO. It's aimed at Children's and youth workers, parents and those who have jobs working with children, youth and families.
"It was completely brilliant! We all came away freshly envisioned and full of faith for the next season in front of us."
There was a day full of great worship (unfortunately no action songs!), some brilliant teaching and a variety of seminars. It was so great to be together with people who have the same vision; to see kids meet with Jesus. You can't help but be swept away in the excitement. We also came away with loads of ideas that we have brought back with us to King's, to our workplaces and to our families.
"It shows you the necessity of kids work and how doing it well is so important to impact them. It made me more excited about doing kids work" Sarah Venn
The next GLO Conference is fast approaching and promises to be a great time for learning how we can do all of this better and building faith for what is to come. It also encourages us in what we are doing already and fuels us into the next season. Get booked in now!
