The twelve disciples were a learning community

They were with Jesus, following him, learning from him, together. But they weren’t simply learning information about him, but growing closer to him, becoming more like him and doing the things he did. These resources will help your group do exactly that. Please do make use of the Word Sheets that are provided as that will ensure your group is joining with the rest of the church in processing and putting into action what they have heard on Sundays.

In this session we will focus on the gifts of the spirit, starting by listening prayerfully to a song of worship and asking God to pour out His Spirit on us.  This will be followed by looking at some scriptures concerning the gifts, followed by prayer, looking to exercise our gift(s) where possible.

This session will look at two scriptures regarding God’s will for us at work.  It will then give opportunity for the group to discuss aspects of their work lives and pray to support members in the work challenges they face.

This session we will pray for our church here in Norwich.  We will start by listening prayerfully to a song of worship and asking God to fill and inspire our prayers for His church.  We will pray for all those who are leaders in the church, for projects specific to King’s Church and for the needs of the three sites.

We'll be adding more Prayer Sheets in due course but if you have any themes that you think would work well in a Prayer Sheet then please do let us know by clicking HERE.

In this session we will be giving thanks to God in worship, exploring thanksgiving through a psalm and doing a creative exercise which stimulates us to think about the things for which we are thankful.  We will finish by just considering if we have received answers to prayer, as a group, for which we can be thankful.

In this session we will be writing psalms of praise and worship, taking inspiration from the way the biblical psalmists, eg, David, wrote.  We will imagine that we’re writing the psalms when we feel in awe of everything God is and/or something He has done or is doing (or any other scenario of your choice)
