Mile Cross meets at the Norman Centre, next to the Primary School (NR3 2QZ). Our Sunday morning church meeting starts with coffee and cake at 10.45am and finishes around 12.45am.
What to expect
Everyone is welcome to join us on a Sunday. If you’re new to church our meetings can seem a little bit daunting. To help you feel at home we’ve highlighted what you can expect from a typical Sunday with us.
Make yourself at home
Once we’ve drank all the coffee and eaten all the cake, our meeting normally starts with worship, singing songs, often with some contributions from church family. Feel free to stand or sit, sing or hum – we want you to feel comfortable with us. After about 30 minutes we’ll hear a talk (or ‘preach’) from one of our leaders. The talk usually lasts around 30 minutes and after that we usually return to sung worship, giving people a space to reflect on and respond to what we have just heard.
King's Kids and Youth
We have activities available for children and youth on a Sunday. Please ask our Welcome Team for more information if you’re unsure, or you can follow directions from the front. Our children and youth spend the first part of the morning in the meeting with the adults and then leave for their own groups. There is no pressure for your children to go out to the activities, feel free to keep them in the meeting with you.
Footsteps (Crèche & Pre-School)
Footsteps is available for all children under school age, meeting in the Manthorpe Room. You are welcome to stay with your children or they can normally be left with our King’s Kids Team. All children must be signed in and out by a parent or carer.
Frantik (School years Reception to 6)
Frantik is a fun-packed morning with games, songs and activities for primary school age children, meeting from 11.30am in the Bignold Room. Simply follow the children and parents as they leave the meeting and our Welcome Team will direct you.All children must be signed in and out by a parent or carer.
Radiate (School years 7-11)
Our youth group, Radiate, meets on Sundays for school years 7-11. They meet in King’s Venue, adjacent to the Norman Centre, leaving the main meeting just before the talk. Some mornings they stay in the meeting for the talk, just follow directions from the front on the day. Radiate also meet on Friday nights at the King’s Centre.
Our children and youth activities are run by volunteers from King’s Community Church. All volunteers are DBS checked and are supervised by leaders of the church.
Little families within the bigger family
LIFE Groups are the heartbeat of King’s Community Church. They are small groups of people meeting in homes across Norwich, simply committed to doing life together and sharing the good news of Jesus with those around them.
LIFE Groups are the best way to connect into King’s and get to know people better.
We want new people to feel at home at King’s and what better way to do that than to meet in each other’s homes, to share food and enjoy life together. LIFE Groups are a place where we learn what it means to follow Jesus in our everyday lives; how we do family, friendships, work life, leisure, etc. This sometimes includes unpacking what we’ve heard on Sundays and encouraging each other to dig deeper into the bible to discover and apply more of it’s life-changing truth.
King’s Venue is a community drop-in adjacent to the Norman Centre, in the centre of Mile Cross.
This space has been used by King’s Community Church since 2012 to run various projects and events to serve the local community.
