What to expect on the MORE Course

Some people have been asking what the MORE course is, so here’s a brief overview.

First thing to say is that the course is open to anyone, from any walk of life. It doesn’t matter what you believe, or don’t believe, whether you’d describe yourself as searching, spiritual or sceptical – or all three, or none of the above. Everyone is welcome. Over six sessions we’ll be exploring life and spirituality from the Christian perspective in a friendly, open and relaxed environment.

During the course you will be in groups, around tables and each table has a host who will help steer you through each session. Sitting round a table over food is a great way to get to know people in your group, so each week we’ll start with a good meal. Following food, there will be some short upfront talks, video clips and quotes, each one followed by a time to discuss, question and explore what has been said with those in your group.

At the end of every week there will be an opportunity for you to post questions, in what is imaginatively called The Questions Box. You can ask anything, maybe something raised from that week, or something that has been discussed but you feel is still unresolved, anything goes! These questions will then be explored the following week and hopefully help you in finding answers.

Also, at the end of each week there will be a takeaway, nope, not a Chinese or Pizza, but something for you to go away and explore, read or do which is relevant to the subject explored that week. Of course you don’t have to do it, (please don’t think of it as homework!) Rather we hope this aspect of the course will help you get the most out of it.

Every person’s time is precious, and we hope that those who come along not only enjoy the course, but really benefit from taking the time to be part of it. So why not invite a friend and come and join us.
