Begin with the end in mind!

No, this is not the cup of coffee at the end of the meeting, but have a clear set of objectives.

Organise a set of prayer points before the meeting to have as a framework for the prayer time. You can go to the King's Church Blog or Events pages for ideas.

ASK for prayer points from your LIFE Group. If no-one suggests anything you can come in with your list. Either way, you will have something to encourage your LIFE Group to pray for.

Encourage with Scriptures

Prepare a number of bible verses with which to encourage people to pray:

Involve everyone!

Be creative! If not everyone prays, as you judge their readiness and faith, ask individuals to take a subject and pray for it. God loves to hear their voice, even "God. please do it" delights Him!

Mix it up

Sometimes there are waves. An ebb and flow of the spirit, who energises us in prayer. Be ready for that eventuality. If you have a musician, ask them to lead singing and worship during the prayer time. If you don't have a musician, have some worship CD's you can sing to, before going on to the next subject.

Give Thanks

In faith start to give thanks for the things you have asked for in prayer, encourage your LIFE Group with some scriptures like those below.

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

Habakkuk 2:3
"For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.

Luke 18:7
now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them?

Hebrews 10:37
