Update on serving people; saving lives

This is an important initiative that was launched a few years ago with a simple aim, that through the serving of people in the conferencing and café at the King’s Centre, we will give away 100% of our net profit to empower people to walk free from poverty. Serving people; saving lives.

You may remember the year before last (2014) we had some significant costs on the building (£100'000 roof being one of them!) and saw a drop in conference income, yet in spite of that we still ended the year  £7548.00 to give away. I am very pleased to report that things are moving in the right direction and the net profit from last year is £11,139.00, which we will be looking to give to projects both  locally and internationally.

In order to enable this to happen we have an excellent staff team who work hard to ensure we serve people well who come through the building during the week. But, we also have many people who come and volunteer in the kitchen and cafe, or help setting up rooms and cleaning (it's a big building, in constant use and in need of constant cleaning!)

The time many people give in serving at the King's Centre is hugely valued and is making a difference in the lives of people who need it most. We really do appreciate the sandwiches you've made, the tables you have laid and the toilets you have cleaned, thank you!!!

If you're available in the daytime and are interested in volunteering at the King's Centre during the week, in the kitchen, cafe or helping the conference team, please do get in touch. You can email hello@kings-norwich.com or call the office 01603 765795.

Book a room, buy a coffee and save a life. Simple.
